Rocket Stove

A rocket stove is an efficient, hot burning portable stove using tinder or smaller pieces of wood for fuel. Fuel is burned in a simple combustion chamber containing an insulated vertical chimney, which ensures almost complete combustion prior to the flames reaching the cooking surface.
Rocket stove designs are most often used as portable stoves for cooking, but the design is also used to make rocket mass heaters for heating. A rocket stove can be purchased in stores or online, and can also be made from found materials like an alcohol stove.
The great thing about rocket stoves is that they use 18-35% less fuel compared to traditional stoves. To make your own rocket stove from a #10 can, click here.
