Solid Fuel Stoves

Solid fuel refers to various types of solid materials that are used to produce energy and provide heat. Solid fuels include wood, charcoal, peat, coal, Hexamine fuel tablets, pellets made from wood, corn, wheat, rye and other grains.
Solid fuels, compared to liquid fuels or gaseous fuels, are more readily available and can be used for heating and cooking, depending on your location. Solid fuels are often free or cheaper than other fuels.
Some examples of solid fuel stoves include cast iron stoves, rocket stoves, can stoves and folding firebox stoves. Can stoves and folding firebox stoves are cheap and easy to use. A folding firebox stove is a small, foldable metal frame stove in which you place natural, burnable materials (ie. sticks, dry grasses, dry leaves). Can stoves and folding firebox stoves are great for emergency kits, camping, backpacking or hiking.
